Remedial Massage is a non-physiotherapy activity that offers effective treatment for tired muscles and general aches and pains caused by the stresses and strains of daily life or pregnancy.
Remedial Massage at Elaine Atkins Physiotherapy Associates is available to all clients, regardless of whether or not they are receiving Physiotherapy, and is provided by our remedial masseuse, Stephanie Mullish.
Remedial Massage Treatments
Stephanie Mullish offers the following specialist remedial massage treatments at Elaine Atkins Physiotherapy Associates in Woodford Green:
Therapeutic Body Massage
Massage benefits the body in many ways; relaxing tight and fatigued muscles whilst improving muscle and skin tone. The increased circulation flow and lymph drainage help to rid the body of harmful toxins. As the body relaxes breathing becomes slower and deeper increasing the efficiency of the lungs. More oxygen in taken in and more carbon dioxide in expelled. This all leads to reduced feelings of stress and tension, leaving the body and mind calm and soothed.
Specialist Antenatal Massage
Massage during pregnancy is an excellent drug free method of relieving aches and pain caused by sore muscles and weight bearing joints. Massage during this extraordinary time aids the circulatory and lymphatic systems, helping to reduce swelling. This is an exceptionally relaxing treatment that will help to release both the physical and emotional tensions that can so easily build up; therefore this treatment benefits both the mother to be and her child.
Indian Head Massage
Indian Head Massage is an ancient therapy used in eastern cultures for release of tension and stress in the upper back shoulders neck scalp and face. Indian Head Massage is a deep massage treatment performed whilst seated using a variety of both massage techniques and oils to benefit the skin and scalp. This intensely relaxing treatment will especially benefit those whom are suffering from tension headaches and stress. This is a deeply soothing treatment which induces a feeling of lightness and well being.
